Having grown up in eastern Washington state, Peter didn’t truly get into the yacht world until his 20s. After moving to San Diego in 2013, he found his passion working as a dockhand at a local boat rental shop.

Everything snowballed from there; Peter became a licensed captain in 2016 and immediately took a job with an eco-tourism company, spending most of the next several years in Alaska, Baja California, and Central America. Since then, he’s been operating a small yacht management company while running research boats for a local university. He loves to share his excitement with other people, whether it’s on a research boat teaching undergrads how to collect data, or something as simple as teaching boat handling lessons to new yacht owners.
