Biography

Originally from San Diego, Michael has lived and worked in the maritime community of La Paz for more than 15 years.  He has spent years as a live-aboard and sailing community member while working as a delivery skipper, professional crewman, service technician, project manager and yacht manager.  He currently owns and curates a 44ft trimaran that completed the Solo Transpac in 1986. He’s also known in La Paz for his musical talents as a guitarist, songwriter and band leader.

Michael has a lifelong love of the sea and boating. He grew up in the waters of Point Loma and Pacific Beach, San Diego, surfing and sailing. He sailed Junior Sabot Nationals at age 11 for Southwestern Yacht Club, and later worked as a small boat sailing and water skiing instructor.  He managed an ASA sailing program and charter fleet.  He was the General Service Manager and a technician for Princess Yachts Mexico involved in new vessel deliveries, fit-outs and warranty services.

Michael has extensive sales and recon experience beyond yachting. In San Diego, he owned and operated a wholesale auto dealership and worked in high line factory dealerships as a buyer and inventory control manager for franchises including Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar and Land Rover.
