Get Ready For The Fourth!

gIt’s nearly Independence Day – picture waving flags, a sizzling grill, and cold drinks all around. How could this patriotic holiday be improved? By spending it on the water, of course.

San Diego offers many options for those wanting to spend the holiday celebrating in a more nautical way. There’s a myriad of spots to anchor in both San Diego and Mission Bay, allowing you to settle in for the day and grill, swim, and entertain guests. If you prefer not to stay anchored all day, a cruise around the city will let you see all kinds of beautiful vessels, as the waters are sure to be chock-full of patriotic party-goers. If you don’t own a boat, a day charter usually isn’t too expensive and is defintely worth the price of admission on the fourth.

At night the Big Bay Boom, a San Diego Bay tradition since 2001, will take place on the water. Anchoring anywhere in San Diego Bay will let you take in the amazing show, as fireworks go off from several locations. Four floats will launch fireworks from Shelter Island to Glorietta Bay, and will be viewable from shore as well as the water.

Celebrate our great city, and our great country tomorrow by joining us on the bay! The boating community of San Diego will be out in force, and it’s sure to be a memorable holiday.
