I am pleased to present sailing vessel "SARAMA," a well-equipped 1988 Ancasta Dubois blue water cruising yacht built by Ancasta Yachts in England (Isle of Wight). She features a large master cabin and private head and shower in the aft. Moving forward of the large salon, there is an over-under bunk room to starboard, the guest head with shower to Port, and the V-birth forward with twin berth. This vessel is truly built for offshore adventures or comfortable coastal cruising and should not be overlooked!
"SARAMA" is fully loaded with an extensive list of features, including a bow thruster for easy maneuvering, a convenient washer/dryer, a water maker for extended voyages, and a generator (a new 3.5 KW generator requiring final installation). Energy needs are well catered for with a custom dinghy davit featuring solar panels, a wind generator, and lithium batteries for substantial power storage.
The yacht is powered by a reliable 80 HP Perkins motor and boasts a significant fuel capacity of 154 gallons and a water holding capacity of 250 gallons, ideal for extended time off-grid. A notable feature is the integrated swim platform beneath the custom davit system, providing easy access for launching the included newer Highfield dinghy and 15 hp Yamaha 2-stroke outboard (2022).
For secure anchoring, "SARAMA" is equipped with two Mantus stainless steel rollers with an integrated windlass. The primary anchor is a 66 kg Bruce anchor with 300 feet of galvanized chain, complemented by a 44 kg Lewmar Delta anchor with 150 feet of chain and 600 feet of rode. A Fortress anchor is also mounted on the stern rail for added security.
Key highlights from a recent survey conducted in July 2024 include an extensive list of upgrades since 2018. These include the brand new, never-run 3.5kW generator, the newer dinghy and outboard (2022), and a comprehensive mast overhaul that included repainting with AlexSeal LPU, standing rigging replacement, and chainplate replacement. The vessel has also received significant electrical upgrades with Victron components and Battleborn lithium batteries, newer B&G electronics, a new liferaft, a custom stern arch and davits with solar panels and a wind generator, and various other cruising systems such as reverse cycle air conditioning units, a watermaker, and a Balmar high output alternator with a Wakespeed regulator. The engine's visual inspection and recorded hours (4354 on the analog hour meter) were considered average for a vessel of its age.
Please note that "SARAMA" is currently hauled out at the Cabrales Boatyard and is wrapped for storage. Some items need to be completed before launching, including finishing the main cockpit drain, completing the thru-hole for the watermaker hose, servicing and reassembling the Max Prop, reinstalling the bow thruster prop and changing its oil, preparing the bow thruster exterior for paint, rewiring the mast lights, attaching the steaming light to the mast, pretuning the rig followed by static and dynamic tuning, installing hydraulic lines for the roller furler and main furler, refilling fluids and testing for leaks, and installing a new stud for the engine mount (part to be brought down).
"SARAMA" presents a fantastic opportunity to acquire a well-maintained and extensively upgraded blue water cruiser ready for her next adventure.
