Overview

The Bayliner 4550 Pilothouse is arguably one of the best yacht designs to ever be produced. This highly sought after model features literally 4 decks (5 if engine room included) that are all accessed without any need for a ladder. The vessel is famous for this ease of access, but if unfamiliar, boarding the yacht is via a transom door from the swimstep, into the aft cockpit.  From the cockpit, entry into the main salon is thru a sliding door, where you will find a large living space (with electric fireplace) with wrap around settee and room for additional chairs. Going forward is the full galley. This yacht has new or almost new galley appliances, including refrigerator/freezer, gas stove and microwave. There's even a trash compactor. From the salon/galley deck, the sleeping berths are found via 3 easy steps down into a hallway with a full guest head and shower to starboard and a fully private guest cabin opposite to port. This guest cabin has a brand new (still in plastic) queen mattress. All the way forward is the master cabin with full, pedestal island queen and a drop down tv. The master cabin features an owner's private head with tub and shower. Just off the master stateroom to port is a 3rd stateroom that has a desk and twin bunks, but on this yacht is used as additional closet space.  The pilothouse is entered from the salon/galley deck by going up 3 steps, where you find a large helm station and another settee. From the pilothouse, the huge flybridge is found via 3 more steps up. No ladders required. The flybridge boasts full 360 degree visibility and ample relaxation lounges. The engines are reliable and economical Hino 220hp turbo diesels that run well and there is a Westerbeke 12kw genset.

This particular yacht is currently used as a liveaboard and the owners are meticulous housekeepers. The boat is tidy and neat as a pin, and shows well. The engine room bilges are clean and dry. She does need minor brightwork tlc (sanding and varnishing) and new upholstery on the flybridge and pilothouse settee. The owners are canvas makers and are in the process of replacing the cockpit bolsters and a new flybridge bimini.

If you are seeking a fantastic liveaboard or a purely recreational cruiser, this is an opportunity to pick up a famous Bayliner 4550 at a very attractive price.

  • Hino 220hp turbo motors, 1884/1839 hours, running and sounding great
  • Westerbeke 12kw genset
  • New galley appliances
  • 2 vhf's
  • Autopilot
  • Furuno sounder/plotter combo
